Hello and welcome to the first blog post.
My name is Heaven S, and this little corner of the internet is where I share my journey as a wife, mother, and homemaker, rooted in love, faith, growth and intentional living. Whether you’re here for parenting resources, homemaking inspiration, heartfelt encouragement, or simply a reminder that you’re not alone in this season of life, you’re in the right place.
As a wife and mom, I’ve experienced the joys and challenges of building a home that’s not just a physical space but a resting place for my family. Honestly, homemaking and motherhood did not come easy to me. I always wanted to be a mom, but I didn’t know where to start or what to do. In fact, my first reaction to becoming a mother was filled with fear and nervousness. You can read more about it here.
I married my high-school sweetheart in 2016 at the age of 22, and we knew that we wanted to be parents. We’d been together for 9 years, married for 4 years, attended a wonderful church and resided in a safe home big enough to share with a baby. We had so much love to give and still I was a bit nervous.
No matter what I felt, or how scary becoming a new mom seemed at the time, I was determined to give it my all. So from the moment I learned I was pregnant with a baby, I began doing research, reading parenting books, watching motherhood videos, attending baby care classes, and pretty much learning as much as I could.
This was all very helpful. I successfully had a safe and fulfilling natural birth, (which you can learn more about here), baby proofed our home, and had a beautiful baby boy, with my husband by my side. I became a stay at home mother and homemaker. I even learned speech pathology, and home education, then began homeschooling my son at the age of 2. That has been a wonderful journey.
6 months into being a stay at home mother, I began journaling and sharing my journey of motherhood, homemaking, and homeschool online and on social media platforms. It was a way to document memories, and journal my thoughts and experiences. Eventually, as I continued to experience motherhood, and learn more and more about parenting, I felt a calling to share my journey with others. That is when I created my first blog, 5 years ago.
Over the years, I’ve learned that motherhood is a gift and homemaking is more than keeping a tidy house or cooking meals. It’s about sharing love, nurturing a family, creating God loving disciples, and building an atmosphere of love, peace, and grace.
Although, it can be challenging at times, even in the messiest of days beauty can be found in motherhood and homemaking.
Fast forward to the current year of 2025, 5 years after the birth of my first child and my first blog. I have now birthed another baby, a beautiful daughter. But also, I decided to create a second blog as well. The Motherhood and Homemaking Blog.
As I continue to grow in experience, knowledge, wisdom, faith, and resources, it is my calling to share that with you and other moms, homemaker, and parents of similar walks of life. It would be selfish of me to keep it all to myself, and what God has given me, I ought to share with others.
So this blog is my way of sharing what I’ve learned (and am still learning!) with you.
Each post is written with the hope of inspiring and equipping you to embrace your calling as a homemaker and mom. On this blog, you can expect:
I believe that community is such an important part of this journey. Whether you’re a new mom, a seasoned homemaker, or somewhere in between, we all have something to share and learn from each other. I’d love to hear your stories, tips, and experiences in the comments or through email.
If you’re ready to walk this journey with me, make sure to subscribe to the blog and follow along on social media platforms you’ll use, e.g., Instagram or Facebook. Together, we’ll celebrate the beauty and purpose of biblical homemaking and motherhood.
Thank you for stopping by, and I can’t wait to connect with you!
With love and grace,
Heaven S.
