The Simple & Intentional Living Challenge: 30 Days to a Peaceful Home & Heart

A Simple Living & Minimalism Challenge

As a wife, a mom, and a homemaker, I want my home to be a place of peace, not stress. So, I decided to take on a 30-day simple living and minimalism challenge. Not just to declutter my home, but to shift my heart and mindset toward what really matters.

This challenge isn’t about perfection. It’s not about having a Pinterest-worthy minimalist home. It’s about creating a space that serves my family well. A home that feels calm, intentional, and filled with joy.

Each week, we’ll focus on a different area of simple living. I’ll be taking small, manageable steps each day, and I’d love for you to join me!

So if you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by clutter or just craving more peace in your daily life, let’s do this together. Let’s clear out what no longer serves us and make room for what truly does.

The Simple & Intentional Living Challenge: 30 Days to a Peaceful Home & Heart

🌿 Week 1: Declutter Your Space (Physical Minimalism)

  1. Declutter one drawer or small space.
  2. Purge 5 items you no longer use.
  3. Tidy up your kitchen counters.
  4. Clean out your closet – donate what you don’t wear.
  5. Organize your bathroom essentials.
  6. Reduce paper clutter (mail, receipts, etc.).
  7. Create a “donate” box for ongoing decluttering.

🕰️ Week 2: Simplify Your Schedule (Time Minimalism)

  1. Eliminate one unnecessary commitment.
  2. Designate a “tech-free” hour each day.
  3. Plan a slow, restful evening with family.
  4. Say no to one thing that doesn’t serve your priorities.
  5. Set a morning or evening routine for peace.
  6. Unsubscribe from unnecessary emails.
  7. Plan your meals for the week to reduce stress.

“My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.”

– Isaiah 32:18

❤️ Week 3: Embrace Contentment (Mindset Shift)

  1. Spend a day without social media.
  2. Practice gratitude – list 5 things you’re thankful for.
  3. Avoid impulse shopping for 24 hours.
  4. Enjoy a free or simple activity with family.
  5. Let go of comparison – focus on your blessings.
  6. Simplify your to-do list – remove 3 non-urgent tasks.
  7. Read scripture about contentment and trusting God.

Week 4: Live Intentionally (Sustainable Minimalism)

  1. Re-evaluate your priorities – what truly matters?
  2. Simplify your home decor – remove visual clutter.
  3. Choose quality over quantity in purchases.
  4. Reuse or repurpose something instead of buying new or give away something that could bless someone else.
  5. Declutter your digital life (apps, photos, files).
  6. Establish a family Sabbath or rest day.
  7. Set long-term minimalism goals for your home & heart.

🌸 Bonus Tip: Keep a journal of your progress and reflections to see how small changes create lasting peace and joy!

As we walk through this challenge together, remember that this isn’t about having a perfect home or following strict minimalist rules.

It’s about creating a space that serves our families, nurtures peace, and allows us to focus on what truly matters.

A home filled with love, gratitude, and the presence of God is far more valuable than any perfectly organized space.

Small steps lead to big changes, so don’t feel pressured to do everything at once. Let this be a journey of grace over perfection. Progress over pressure.

I’d love to hear how this challenge is impacting you!
